The first China - South Africa high-tech exhibition was held in Johannesburg, South Africa during 13^th-15^th October. The meeting was organized by both countries’ Ministry of Science and Technology. Government officials, research institutions, universities and enterprises from both countries participated in the exhibition, including science and technology projects exhibition, B2B talks and seminars, which builds a new platform for cooperation in science and technology. Mr. Hou Jianguo, China vice Minister of Science and Technology, Mujiwala, South Africa director general and Tian Xuejun Chinese ambassador to South Africa attended the opening ceremony.

Multiple companies from Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Guangxi, Tianjin, Chongqing and South Africa with hundreds of projects information came to the exhibition covering nuclear, aerospace, life sciences, medicine, environmental protection, new energy, electronic information, equipment manufacturing and other fields. Beijing Forever Technology attended the event to promote solutions of power grid information technology. 

Now it is a good timing for Sino-African cooperation. Last December, China President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to South Africa, and jointly chaired with President Zuma the FOCAC Johannesburg summit. Together with other African leaders, they seek cooperation and development plans. Starting the Sino African cooperation especially China-South Africa win-win cooperation and common development, creating a new historic opportunity for China and South Africa cooperation in science and technology. South Africa is a leader in economic and technological development in Africa in the field of satellite technology, laser technology, nuclear energy research, ore mining, life sciences, medical research and new materials with advanced technology and products, a well-developed economy and huge development potential and has been an important strategic partner of China.
